May Favourites

Hi lovelys! Haven't quite got in to swing with the monthly favourites thing yet so I thought now would be a good time to start up, it's not the end of the month yet but it's nearing and I'm away on holiday as of Friday so I thought I'd get this post up a little earlier. All being face products I've been using and loving over the month of May, enjoy! x

MAC STUDIO FIX FLUID

This foundation is so amazing it needs a review of its own! It's taken years of experimenting with many different foundations to find one I would class as perfect for my skin type. Studio fix has been my holy grail foundation for at least a year or more now. It's oil free formula complements my skin type so well with a natural matte finish with medium to buildable coverage for those bad skin days! I did get a colour match in store but I'm so up and down with my tanning I do change it up quite a bit at the minute being the summer months I'm in the shade NW35. RRP £21.00 LINK HERE

MAC PROLONGWEAR CONCEALER

This little baby is a newer addition too my makeup bag and wow have I been missing out! I'd heard lots of people raving about pro longwear concealer over blogs and YouTube for a long while and only now realised it was all in good reason. This miracle product works magic on dark circles and brightens up the eye area I've also been using it to highlight my brows! Blending it with a small brush to create more of a HD effect. Just be sure to blend as soon as you apply to prevent it looking cakey and creasing as I noticed this product dries quite quickly! I'm in the shade NC25.
RRP £15.50 LINK HERE

CLINIQUE CHEEK POP BLUSHES
Ginger pop/Peach pop.

New this spring/summer 2014 Click HERE to read my post on them all. If you haven't already you need to try at least one of four of the gorgeous shades! You will honestly not regret it. As much as I love all 4 I've found myself reaching more towards 'GINGER POP' and 'PEACH POP' this month they are perfect paired together. Im wearing them both on my cheeks in the pic below.. RRP £16.50

MAC LIP COMBO - MAGENTA LIP LINER & IMPASSHIONED/GIRL ABOUT TOWN
I never tire of a pink lip! Been absolutely in love with this bright bold lip combo this month, Has summer written all over it! All products used can be found on the MAC website linked above.

From top; Mac Magenta lip liner, Mac Impassioned, Mac Girl About Town.

MeMeMe illuminator/ Highlighter

A gorgeous gorgeous illuminating highlighter that may I add is actually purse friendly! Is a perfect summer essential for anyone's makeup bag. The one I have is in the shade pearly pink though I do believe it is available in another shade over on the mememe cosmetics website which is linked HERE I've been mixing mine in with my foundation latley to create a more dewy glow finish to my makeup RRP £5.50

MAC MINERALISE SKIN FINISH | GOLD DEPOSIT

One of the permenant mineralise skin finishes Mac has to offer 'Gold Deposit' is a perfect shade for adding that summer glow to your makeup, it's super super pigmented and literally has deposits of gold shimmer running through it it's lushous! Apply a light dusting over cheekbones and be sure to blend Blend blend! A lovely summer highlight if your a lover of that beautifully bronzed look. You can get yours HERE RRP £22.00

LASH CURLERS | VINTAGE COSMETICS COMPANY

Never really bothered with eyelash curlers before as normally I do resort to false lashes, come to think of it i actually think these might just be the fist pair I've owned ever! Didn't know what I had been missing mind you, It's fair to say these have converted me a little to going 'au naturel' for a change giving a perfect lift and curve to my lashes and making them look longer which I thought was actually impossible! Get yours HERE
RRP £7.00

Glossybox | Summer Beauty Edit with Superdrug

I've mentioned Glossybox in previous posts and have been waiting for the right time to write up a review on one. What better time to do it than when Glossybox collaborate with Superdrug to celebrate 50 years of being a go-to destination for our beauty and health needs! Basically Glossybox is a monthly subscription box that you get delivered right to your door. Every month you will receive a box of 5 new releised beauty mini's to try out some even being full sized products..
Click this link to go to the GLOSSYBOX website to subscribe to get yours for £10 a month, it also gives you the option to save more by paying 3 month, 6 month or annual subscriptions in advance.

When you open your Glossybox inside there is a little magazine advertising new products and explaining a little about that months box and a card listing all the products you have in your box telling you a little bit of information about each and the price of each item to buy full size. I'm a sucker for cute packaging and glossy box are bang on everytime! the products were wrapped up in pretty pink tissue paper this month as it's a special one and tied with a gold bow almost to pretty to open! As appose to the 5 products I normally receive in a Glossybox this month I had 7!!! And 5 of those were full sized with the most expensive price tagged at £10.99 that's already the box payed for! Amazing.

Here's what I received in mine this month.. I will talk you through each product I received starting with the highest value and work my way down..

Max Factor | Facefinity All Day Primer

I've been looking to try out a new primer for a while as my skin is oily and in the summer there's nothing worse than your makeup sliding all over your face! this has stopped me in my tracks.. The card says.. 'This primer has micro corrector that work to absorb sweat and extend the wear of your favourite foundation for an all day flawless finish' I have only used this 3 times but it hasn't proved them wrong yet my makeup has stayed put and it's stopped any oiliness I had going on! Thumbs up! This product is a full size RRP £10.99 This in itself is the box payed for!

Rimmel London | Scandaleyes Retro Glam Mascara.

Mascara to me is like marmite..'You either love it or you hate it' It takes a lot for me to 'LOVE' a mascara as my lashes  need quite a lot of work for me not to resort to wearing falsies! The card says.. 'Rimmel's first mascara with an hourglass brush that plumps and curves lashes for an iconic 60's look! The hourglass brush is shaped to the lash line, pushing lashes up and out to create a bold wide-eyed false lash look' Looking forward to trying this out. RRP £6.99

GOSH Cosmetics | Velvet Touch Eyeliner

Interesting deep purple shade pencil eyeliner. The card claims 'it's enriched with vitamin E and jojoba oil and a brilliant smudge proof yet nourishing eyeliner' I'm looking forward to creating different looks with this and seeing if it really is smudge proof that will be amazing for the RRP of only £4.99! Will never need to splurge again! Bargin.

Superdrug Large Doughnut Ring

Don't know if it's just me liking my hair larger than life or if it's been worded wrong but this doughnut ring is most definatly not 'Large' it's around the size of the palm of my hand. Personal preference and nothing against Superdrug I just know I've seen larger in store. Anyway not that I'm not going to love this because I will and I know exactly what I will use it for may even star it in a hair up post soon so keep your eyes peeled! RRP £3.99

I Love Cosmetics | Strawberries & Milkshake Shimmer & Shine Lip Gloss

Excited to try! never heard of this brand before but if it's as good as it smells it's a winner! As soon as I opened my box I could smell calpol yes as in the medicine you have as kids! A strawberry like scent I wasn't far wrong I suppose. The packaging on this lipgloss smells just as amazing as the product inside which is bezar! Strawberries & Milkshake yummy! not a big fan of lipglosses with shimmer normally but I could be converted I guess, have yet to try this RRP £1.29

Those were all my full sized products and they also threw in 2 sample sizes for me to try out..

GHOST Fragrances | Eclipse

The scent is described as 'fresh fruity and floral with a sensual amber base' quite warm & musky, lovely for the more mature woman I feel, personal preference as Im more into sweeter scents. For the full 50ml RRP £33

Garnier | Oil Beauty Lotion

Beauty Lotion infused with argan, macadamia, almond and rose oil in one! Every Garnier product I've purchased in the past I've loved! So I have high expectations for this. I've had my eye on this one and been meaning to try it out, it's meant to replenish the skin with moisture and prevent it from feeling dry leaving your skin feel soft and silky-smooth! Full size bottle RRP £4.99

Don't forget to visit www.glossybox.co.uk on the above link to start your monthly subscription.. Think of if as a gift to yourself from yourself girls! :)♡

Hair Update | how I got Ombré

Hey girls, I thought I would share my current hair changes with you as promised. If you follow me on social media your probably aware my hair is pretty much always dark, I've been loving the ombré/balayage trend at the minute so I thought I'd give it a bash for summer! In this post I will explain how my hairdresser achieved this look and what was used so if your interested here's how she did it...

Products used:
• Indola blonde expert bleach
• Indola 20vol gel Peroxide.
• LK 11/0 (high lift tint)
• 40vol cream peroxide.
• Indola #3 (dark brown)
• LK 00/2 ash toner.

Step #1 :- Using a tail comb she sectioned the top of my hair into a star shape to cover my crown and clipped it up out of the way.

Step #2 :- Taking a section at a time she used the bleach with 20vol peroxide on the very ends of my hair working upwards in a 'U' shape using flicking motions preventing any harsh lines.

Step #3 :- Moving up toward the middle if the hair she used 11/0 with 40vol which is a high lift tint, not quite as strong as a bleach. This will created a faded out effect working up towards the darker colour again this helps prevent any harsh lines.

Step #4 :- Starting around the hair line she applied my original hair colour which is a base shade of a 3 (dark brown) only too the roots of my hair sectioning all the way through.

We left the colours on for 35 minutes before washing it off..

Step #5 :- Obviously with my hair being so dark and also previously having red on it it lifted to a gorgeous copper colour. Which was just what I wanted, only the copper was a little to intense for me (PP) so when shampooing she added some ash toner to neautralise the brassy tones.
She did 2 shampoo's with the toner then followed with a conditioner.

And tadaaaa! ...♡♡♡

I'm so in love with it! I'm super impressed at how it turned out as Im so dark! It all blends so naturally into my hair! I will be purchasing new hair extentions too match pronto! So will be doing an extention update soon if any of you fancy that:)

I owe all the credit to my amazing hairdresser Emma! Give her a follow on twitter @bambi_h

Any questions feel free to leave comments below I'll be happy to help♡

Bellapierre Shimmer Powders♡

I knew it wouldn't be long before I had to write up a review about these two gorgeous multi-purpose 100% mineral colour pigments. They were a diffinate love at first sight for me! And here we are two months down the line and boom! .. Bellapierre are known to be one of the fastest growing mineral makeup companies in the world! They sell a range of beauty products for face, eyes, lips nails & even skin care with a huge diversity of colour pigments appealing to all skin types and tones.

I received my first one 'Penny' in my Glossybox! Glossy box is a monthly subscription box that holds 5 suprise beauty miniatures for you to try out, with either 1 or 2 full sized products. It's only £10 a month which is great! As everytime I add up all the products I receive it comes too well over £20 it's a great way to try before you buy!

I received my second pigment 'Celebration' in a Latest in beauty box I ordered a little while back I think it was the 'All about eyes' box which was limited edition. Latest in beauty being more of an every season thing with lots of limited edition boxes thrown in here and there for you to order! Also another great option to try before you buy.. These boxes are around £20 and you can order whenever you fancy as appose to a monthly subscription.

Here are the links for both..
incase any of you girls are interested.
Think of them as a gift to yourself from yourself♡
And here is the website where you can purchase these beautiful pigments and more..

As you can see by the picture they are both gorgeous gorgeous golden bronze tones. But they are both very different in their own little way, Penny being my favourite having more of a warm, copper bronze undertone and Celebration being a more cool toned gold with yellow undertones. Both pure amazing quality products with an ultra smooth textured mineral formula that glides on like a dream. I lightly apply mine as a bronze highlight on to my cheeks it leaves you with the perfect glow for summer! No creasing and not cakey at all. Be careful not to apply to much as a little goes a long way! Which also means these products are definatly going to last you a long while. It doesn't stop there threse are one of the most versatile products I have ever come across! they can also be used as an eyeshadow, mixed with lip gloss, nail polish, mascara, and even eyeliner! Amazing!!!

I'm actually shocked that I haven't tried or seen many bloggers write about these before now and I will without a doubt be purchasing more of the many pretty shades in the near future.

Each pigment RRP £12.99

If any of you have tried and loved any of Bellapierre mineral products or have any other recommendations I would love you to leave a comment, I'm always interested in trying new things:)

My Coloured Contact Lenses..

Hi honeys! Incase you have already noticed my eye colour changing from picture to picture, I thought I'd clear it up for y'all:) I have been using coloured contact lenses for around 3 years now and I love how different they can make me look, enhancing different colours in my makeup and as silly as it sounds they sometimes even complement my outfit!
As you can see in the above pic my natural eye colour is Brown. Let's just stress I have nothing against Brown eyes I love my own! Just like to change it up a little every now and again.

The lenses I use are called FreshLook Colourblends they come in a box like this..

   I order mine from www.lenstore.co.uk

They have a range of different colours available, mine are in the colour Sterling Gray which is a natural gray/blue colour.
Contact lenses can be used to help with sight or simply for cosmetic reasons, the ones I use are for cosmetic perpouses only. Though I think the same are available to help with sight too.

Note: Before buying any type of contact lenses make sure to go to an eye professional/ eye doctor and get your eyes measured properly along with a sight test. This is very important as it will ensure that your lenses fit you comfortably and prevent causing damage to your eyes. Some company's claim 'one size fits all' let me just stress there is no such thing! I have been fooled and tried many of these kind of 'one size fits all' lenses and oh my goodness ouch!!! Not to mention most of them the colour being so un natural and obvious. Everyone's eyes are different. If lenses cause discomfort to your eyes the likely chance is they are damaging them. The ones I use are monthly disposables, this means I can wear them for a whole month taking them out before bed and then dispose if them when I'm done.
No prescription is needed.

Are contact lenses safe?
Yes, if cared for as recommended by a professional!

The most common cause of infection is poor storing or poor cleaning of contact lenses so be sure to store them in a specified container and make sure to clean it out every day adding new clean liquid. I get both my solution and storage containers from specsavers the solution I use is called 'easy vision all purpose preservative free solution' the 250ml bottle normally lasts me the whole month and the little storage container comes free. Though there probably are cheaper options available on ebay.

How to apply and remove contact lenses: Be careful if you have long nails like me! Don't want any eyes out!!! The picture below shows how the contact lense should and shouldn't look before applying.. When it looks like the one on the left, look up slightly, place the lense onto your eye then wiggle it a little until you hear a sort of suction noise. When the lense is in place look around for a moment and blink a few times to make sure the lense is sitting comfortably. It takes a bit of getting used to but becomes second nature after a while. To remove the lense slightly pinch and drag downwards.

If before applying your lense it looks like the 'wrong' picture on the right. Turn your lense over it's the wrong way! and you would most definatly know about it if you applied it to your eye! by leaning to the one side it's trying to flip itself over to reposition to the correct position.

Contact lenses are NOT recommended..
* for children under the age of 9
* Anyone with eye allergies.
* diabetics (prone to infection)
* anyone exposed to chemical fumes or dust on a regular basis.

A little disclaimer:)..
What may work perfectly for me may not work for you the exact same. Everyone is different. Just be sure to get your eyes correctly measured!

Hope you all had a lovely bank holiday!
